As a amateur player in the UK I come under R&A rules in america its the PGA. But most rules that are made seem to be for the benefit of the tours, and touring professionals. The removal of the belly putter was because of the tour, but thia has effected everday golfers like you and I. The constant talk about changing the ball or making courses longer effects us on a daily basis, and could be a reason there is a reduction in membership. Even the small things like preferred lies, a touring pro gets a club lenght, us a card lenght! How does that work? We need the rules to bring golfers together not split us further apart.
